I’ve lived in Calistoga since 1974 after growing up in Noe Valley in San Francisco. This website highlights some aspects of my work and interests.

Presently, I’m excited to be a candidate for the mayor of Calistoga. Please click on “City Council,” above, for my history, ideas, and qualifications to represent you on the City Council .

Land use in Napa County has been one of my long-time interests. In the “Editorials/Commentary” page above you’ll find my articles going back as far as 1981 addressing landscape. Since then I’ve continued to pen editorials and letters-to-editors, mostly to encourage respect for the semi-rural identity and small town character of North Bay counties.

In 1984 I founded my company, Donald Williams Wood Floors. Over 30 years my employees and I worked on about 6,000 floors in Napa and Sonoma counties. I encouraged customers to exercise their imaginations with the floors we installed for them. Please visit the “Flooring Gallery” above to see some of those creations. My customers’ kind acknowledgements are included in the section “Flooring Customers’ Comments.”

For 19 years while I was flooring, I also taught mathematics at Napa Valley College. The students seemed to appreciate my pedagogy (click on “Students’ Comments” above).

I hope this website offers testimony to the knowledge, skills, and positive attitude I bring to an undertaking such as service on the city council. Thanks for your interest. I look forward to hearing from you.
